Child-care facilities in Saskatchewan received a $2-million COVID-19 CARE package Monday.
In a media release, the provincial government said licensed child-care centres and family child-care homes were receiving the funding to help them cover the costs associated with the fight against COVID.
The funding, which is from the Federal Safe Start Agreement, is to help the centres cover the costs of personal protective equipment, as well as cleaning and sanitizing supplies.
The money is to be paid out as a one-time grant of $100 per child-care space to licensed child-care centres and homes.
The provincial government has been providing child-care facilities with grants since the pandemic started in March.
