A collision Wednesday afternoon left a 39-year-old woman dead and five people injured.
RCMP responded to reports of a head-on collision between a car and SUV at 4:42 p.m. on Highway 55 just north of Canwood.
The driver of the car, the 39-year-old, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A nine-year-old girl in the vehicle was transported to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. Another passenger, a 17-year-old boy was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The driver of the SUV, a 78-year-old man and his two passengers, a 56-year-old woman and 76-year-old woman were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Alcohol and drugs are not considered a factor in the collision, according to RCMP.
Highway 55 was closed for several hours for the investigation and re-opened late Wednesday night.
