Skate the Park is returning to Echo Valley Provincial Park.
Starting in January, visitors to the park near Fort Qu’Appelle can go for a skate on a road that has been flooded by staff and turned into a skating rink.
The loop, which runs through the park’s Aspen campground, is bigger than last year’s version to give skaters more space and more areas to explore.
Skate the Park operates Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Fridays from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. It’s closed Mondays and Tuesdays for maintenance.
Skaters can get into the park with a valid park entry permit — 2020 annual permits are good until March 31 — or by paying $10 per vehicle per day. Payment can be made at the park’s visitor centre.
Due to provincial COVID-19 measures, outdoor gatherings are limited to a maximum of 10 people and physical distancing between households is required.
