Firefighters in Redvers rushed to the scene of a burning hotel Monday morning but were unable to save the building.
Fire Chief Brad Hutton said crews got the call about the fire at the Western Star hotel at about 2:15 a.m.
“Once on scene, about a third of the roof was engulfed. The fire was moving through the attic relatively quick,” Hutton said late Monday morning.
Hutton said nobody was inside at the time and there were no injuries to the crew.
He said the fire likely started on the main floor.
As of late Monday morning, Hutton said firefighters had the blaze contained but were still putting out hot spots.
