Junior football in the prairies has a start date to return to play.
The Canadian Junior Football League and the Prairie Football Conference released their 2021 schedules Tuesday. The current start date, which is subject to change, is set for Aug. 8.
The defending-champion Saskatoon Hilltops are to begin their season at home against the Edmonton Wildcats at SMF Field.
Meanwhile, the Regina Thunder will be on the road in Edmonton to face the Huskies, the PFC runners-up from last season. The teams will play at the JP Bowl, a new facility for the Huskies in Edmonton.
Each team’s eight-game regular season is expected to end on Oct. 3, with the conference final set for Oct. 24.
The B.C. and Ontario conferences continue to work on their schedules and those are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
