Seven Regina schools reported cases of COVID-19 on Saturday.
Two cases were identified at St. Kateri Tekakwitha School in the Harbour Landing neighbourhood.
“It is important to note that these cases are not linked to transmission within the school but come from the community,” the Regina Catholic School Division said in a media release.
The division said it temporarily has closed the impacted classrooms as well as a bus route. Those students are to begin remote learning Monday for the duration of the self-isolation period. All other classrooms are to be open Monday.
The Catholic division also said it had closed two classrooms after a COVID case was diagnosed at Miller Comprehensive Catholic High School. Students in one of those classrooms are to learn remotely until returning to school March 23, with those in the other classroom returning to in-person learning March 25.
There also was a case reported at Michael A. Riffel Catholic High School. Students who were deemed to be close contacts have been given information about self-isolation and remote learning.
Meanwhile, Regina Public Schools reported one case each at McLurg School, Rosemont Community School, Ecole Wascana Plains School and Albert Community School. The elementary schools will be open Monday, but some students are to begin remote learning.
