The drive-through AstraZeneca vaccination clinic at Regina’s Evraz Place now is accepting anyone between the ages of 60 and 69.
The Saskatchewan Health Authority announced the change Thursday evening.
The clinic opened Monday for only those aged 64 before dropping the eligibility down to 60 on Tuesday. Earlier Thursday, it started accepting anyone between the ages of 67 and 69, as well as those in the 60-to-64 age group.
As of Thursday night, 65- and 66-year-olds also are eligible.
Saskatchewan launched the clinic after receiving 15,500 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine. At the time, the National Advisory Committee on Immunization recommended that vaccine not be given to those 65 or over — but that organization backtracked on that recommendation on Tuesday.
The site is open from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., and is on a first-come, first-served basis. Wait times, which are updated hourly from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., can be found here.
The SHA also launched Thursday a short-range radio station (107.5 FM) that will provide details about the immunization process.
At Evraz Place, drivers are reminded to follow the green signs for the AstraZeneca drive-through vaccination clinic.
The yellow signs will take drivers to the COVID-19 testing drive-through site, which is open from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The blue signs are to guide those who have a pre-booked COVID immunization appointment. Access for those appointments also can occur from Elphinstone Street.
