The drive-through COVID-19 vaccination clinic at Regina’s Evraz Place was up and running again Monday.
The clinic, which closed April 16 after exhausting its supply of vaccine, reopened Sunday. On Monday, it continued serving people aged 40 and over and prioritized frontline workers who had letters proving they were eligible to receive their shots.
The drive-through is working on a first-come, first-served basis.
In a post on its website Sunday, the Saskatchewan Health Authority said the drive-through was to be open Sunday and then again on Friday and Saturday. It’s unclear how the decision to open Monday will affect next weekend’s schedule.
A walk-in clinic also is scheduled for Friday in Regina. It’s set to operate from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the South Leisure Centre (170 Sunset Dr.).
The Saskatoon drive-through immunization clinic at Prairieland Park continued operation Monday. It’s scheduled to be open Monday and Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
There also are drive-throughs set this week for Eston (Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Eston Community Complex), Lloydminster (Monday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Exhibition Grounds), Melville (Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Horizon Credit Union Centre ) and Prince Albert (Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thorpe’s Industry).
Walk-ins are slated for this week in Humboldt (Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Jubilee Hall at the Uniplex), Martensville (Wednesday and Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Northridge Centennial Community Centre) and Swift Current (Monday and Tuesday, 8:30 a.m. to noon, Old Central Medical Clinic).
“Reminder to residents that clinic availability is based on vaccine availability, and demand for appointments outweighs the current supply,” the SHA said in a media release.
