A Regina-area chiropractor who was charged in April with two counts of sexual assault now faces six more counts of the same charge.
The Regina Police Service said Dr. Ruben Adam Manz, 45, was arrested Thursday on the latest charges. He was released on conditions and is to return to court on Aug. 10.
Manz initially was charged after two women came forward alleging he acted in a way that was “inappropriate and unwanted” during their chiropractic treatment.
The allegations were received by police in early April, just days apart, but the alleged incidents occurred between 2012 and 2019.
One woman alleges she was assaulted between Jan. 28, 2012 and June 1, 2016. The second woman contacted Regina police alleging she was assaulted between April and August of 2019. Both women reported the same man.
“The actions described could not be categorized as a necessary part of the treatment sought by the victims,” the Regina Police Service said in its news release after the first charges were filed.
