Regina’s drive-thru COVID-19 vaccination clinic is to shift gears starting Sunday.
As reported previously, the clinic at Evraz Place is going to be administering only the AstraZeneca vaccine as second doses to those who received that brand as a first shot and want to get it as a second shot.
On Friday, the Saskatchewan Health Authority revealed that vaccine will be available at the Regina drive-thru from Sunday through Tuesday and again on June 12. The clinic is to be open from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on each of those days.
The drive-thru at Saskatoon’s Prairieland Park also will offer AstraZeneca on Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
On Wednesday, the Regina drive-thru is slated to go back to administering Pfizer before returning to AstraZeneca on June 12.
There also are to be walk-in AstraZeneca clinics in Yorkton (Monday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.), Kindersley (Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.), Swift Current (Wednesday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.), and Regina (Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.).
That latter clinic, which also will be offering Pfizer, is set for the mâmawêyatitân Centre.
People who received a first dose of AstraZeneca can receive that vaccine or an mRNA vaccine (either Pfizer or Moderna) for their second dose when they’re eligible under the province’s age or date criteria for second doses.
As of Friday, that eligibility covers people who are 65 years of age or older or who had their first dose on or before March 22.
Those criteria also apply for second doses of Pfizer and Moderna vaccines.
Everyone 12 and over in the province is eligible for a first dose of a COVID vaccine.
