Saskatchewan’s snowbirds got some good news Tuesday.
James Bogusz, the president and CEO of the Regina Airport Authority, announced Sunwing will offer flights from Regina to six tropical locales during the 2021-22 vacation season.
“We are thrilled that Sunwing is returning to southern Saskatchewan with a variety of quality winter holiday travel options,” Bogusz said in a media release. “Our partnership with Sunwing allows YQR to once again be the local gateway for winter travel.”
Starting in December, Sunwing is to fly from Regina to Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Los Cabos, Mazatlan, Punta Cana and Varadero on a weekly basis.
Flights will go to Cancun on Mondays and Saturdays from Dec. 11 until April 11, to Puerto Vallarta on Fridays and Sundays from Dec. 10 to April 10, to Los Cabos on Thursdays from Dec. 16 until April 14, to Mazatlan on Fridays from Dec. 17 until April 8, to Punta Cana on Wednesdays from Dec. 15 to April 13, and to Varadero on Tuesdays from Dec. 14 to April 12.
The story is much the same in Saskatoon, with flights being offered to seven sunny vacation spots.
Flights will go to Cancun on Mondays and Saturdays from Dec. 11 until April 11, to Puerto Vallarta on Fridays and Sundays from Dec. 10 until April 10, to Los Cabos Thursdays from Dec. 16 to April 14, to Mazatlan Fridays from Dec. 17 until April 8, to Punta Cana on Wednesdays from Dec. 15 to April 13, to Varadero Tuesdays from Dec. 14 until April 12 and to Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo on Thursdays from Dec. 9 until April 7.
