Participants in Regina’s largest marathon will be hitting the road again in September.
The Queen City Marathon, which was held virtually in 2020 due to COVID-19, is to be held in person this fall.
“We are extremely excited to bring the running and walking community back together this fall for an in-person GMS Queen City Marathon,” Shawn Weimer, the executive director of Run Regina, said in a media release.
“It has been over 17 months since we have been able to produce a live race and we know that everyone is excited for the opportunity to challenge themselves and see other runners.”
Run Regina — the organization that stages the annual race — is still finalizing details for the 2021 event. However, organizers are planning for a three-day event from Sept. 10-12. Those who still want to run the race virtually can do so through the month of September.
