The Regina Pats got some added help in the crease by acquiring 18-year-old goaltender Keegan Maddocks from the Victoria Royals Tuesday.
Regina sent 20-year-old Carter Massier to Victoria in the exchange.
Maddocks, originally from Langley, B.C., spent two seasons with the Delta Hockey Academy prior to joining the Royals last year.
“We are pleased to have Keegan join us as we prepare for the upcoming season,” Pats VP of hockey operations and general manager John Paddock said in a team media release.
“He gives us some great depth in goal and we’re really looking forward to having him in the mix, going into training camp.”
Massier was signed by the Pats in 2018 and appeared in 91 games, scoring 13 goals and 27 points in Regina.
“We wish Carter all the best in Victoria,” said Paddock. “He has been a good player for us on and off the ice over the past three seasons.”
The Regina Pats 2021 training camp begins Sept. 1st.
