Annual maintenance work and a few upgrades will be closing the Lawson Aquatic Centre as of Monday.
The public will be unable to use the centre while it undergoes its yearly upkeep and work is completed on a number of scheduled projects.
The City of Regina said the annual closures help prevent costly repairs for the recreation centre.
Maintenance will begin on Aug. 9, while work is scheduled on Aug. 15 to complete upgrades on the strength and conditioning area. On Aug. 29, upgrades to the pool are scheduled.
It’s time for the Lawson Aquatic Centre’s annual maintenance.

Projects at the Lawson this year include installing two new multi-purpose scoreboards with competition and video functionality, upgrading the artistic swimming sound system, upgrading the universal change room to be fully accessible and adding another universal change room opening directly onto the pool deck.
While the Lawson will be closed, other facilities including the North West and Sandra Schmirler Leisure Centres will remain open for public use.
