Another pair of wins for the Saskatchewan Canadian Junior Football League teams Sunday.
The Regina Thunder had its first home game in 679 days, kicking off an early-afternoon matchup with the Winnipeg Rifles.
The Thunder scored early, and often, notching 61 points by halftime. The Rifles were able to put a dent — a small dent, at that — in the score by the game’s end, finishing with a 64 to 19 win by the Thunder.
Winnipeg wasn’t able to win their matchup at home with the Thunder in Week 1, bested by a score of 37 to 0.
Saskatoon was also in action Sunday, a road matchup with the Calgary Colts.
After a last-second win on a rouge in week one against the Edmonton Huskies, the Hilltops cruised in week two.
The team was up 28 to 7 at halftime. With a couple more scores in the second half, the Hilltops won 35 to 18.
The PFC takes this next week as a bye for all clubs. After the week off, a home-and-home between the Thunder and Hilltops kicks off on Sept. 11 in Saskatoon at SMF Field at 7 p.m.
The Hilltops meet the Thunder at Mosaic Stadium on Sept. 18 to wrap up the two regular-season meetings between the two clubs.
