A collision on the Trans-Canada Highway in British Columbia has left a man from Saskatchewan dead and four other people in hospital.
The RCMP say the collision happened Sunday, with officers responding to a report of a collision between a pickup truck and a motorhome between Golden and Revelstoke.
Witnesses said an eastbound pickup veered into the westbound lane, colliding with the motorhome. An eastbound pickup with a trailer and a westbound semi were also involved in the collision.
The driver of the vehicle said to have veered into traffic, a 48-year-old man from Saskatchewan, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two passengers — a woman and a child — were taken to hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the motorhome was airlifted to hospital and a child in the motorhome was taken to hospital as well. Both were said to have suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The occupants of the second pickup truck and the semi were uninjured.
Reports on social media identified the man from Saskatchewan as Todd Beattie from Moose Jaw. His wife Holly and their son Kai were injured in the collision.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help provide any support the family needs as a result of the accident.
