A Regina man could be nursing some bruises after being tackled off of a bicycle during his arrest Monday night.
According to police, a call came in just before 9 p.m. about a man with a knife in the 1600 block of Ottawa Street, north of Saskatchewan Drive. Police said they were told one man with a knife was confronting another man.
Officers who were nearby saw a suspect taking off on a bicycle, and one of the officers tackled the suspect off of the bike. There was a brief struggle and the man was arrested.
Police say a .22-calibre rifle, ammunition, knives and break-and-enter tools were found on the suspect.
A 32-year-old man from Regina was taken to hospital “for treatment,” police said, and now is facing 11 charges including careless use of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, and assault.
