Some of the Saskatchewan government’s two million rapid testing kits are beginning to appear at locations throughout the province.
Chambers of commerce throughout Saskatchewan were expected to receive many of these tests.
Regina Chamber of Commerce CEO John Hopkins says people have been rushing over.
“We’ve already got people coming to the door pretty much non-stop already,” Hopkins said Friday.
He went on to add there are roughly 4,000 kits available at his office.
There are limitations in place for how many boxes people can pick up. Hopkins says they have a “one box per family” rule along with five boxes per business.
There are five tests per box, which is typically good for two weeks if rotated every second day for testing.
“As long as we have them, we’ll give them out to people,” Hopkins claimed.
Other locations aside from the Regina Chamber of Commerce might have different rules when it comes to picking up kits.
As of Friday morning, the following locations had kits available for the public:
- Swift Current & District Chamber of Commerce (Fridays 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.)
