The Regina Pats have followed up a seven-game losing streak with a three-game winning streak.
Regina improved to 5-7-0-0 with a 4-3 WHL victory over the Moose Jaw Warriors on Wednesday at the Brandt Centre.
Braxton Whitehead, Zack Smith, Zack Stringer and Luke Bateman scored for Regina. Martin Rysavy, Jagger Firkus and Denton Mateychuk replied for the Warriors (4-7-0-0).
In Saskatoon, meanwhile, Brendan Lee had the only goal of the shootout as the Blades downed the Swift Current Broncos 4-3.
After Lee — Saskatoon’s third shooter — scored, Nolan Maier stopped the Broncos’ Cole Nagy to give the Blades the come-from-behind victory.
Swift Current led 3-2 after two periods, but Brandon Lisowsky scored with 1:37 left in the third period to pull the Blades even. After a scoreless overtime period, Lee and Maier teamed up to give the Blades the win.
Josh Paulhus and Egor Sidorov had the other goals in regulation time for Saskatoon (9-2-1-0). Nagy, with two, and Josh Davies had goals for the Broncos, who are 0-7-2-1 in their past 10 games after winning two straight to start the season.
