The Regina Pats’ four-game winning streak ended Wednesday with a 3-2 WHL loss to the Red Deer Rebels.
Talon Brigley’s short-handed goal at 14:18 of the second period snapped a 2-2 tie and stood up as the winner for the Rebels at the Brandt Centre.
Kai Uchacz and Kalan Lind had the other goals for Red Deer (11-6-1-0). Tanner Howe and Stanislav Svozil scored for the Pats (6-8-0-0).
In the only other game involving a Saskatchewan-based team Wednesday, the Prince Albert Raiders lost 4-2 to the visiting Edmonton Oil Kings.
The Raiders (5-8-0-1) saw their streak with at least one point earned end at four games (3-0-0-1). Edmonton improved to 10-3-2-1.
Simon Kubicek, Carter Souch, Dylan Guenther and Jakub Demek scored for Edmonton, which led 3-0 before Reece Vitelli and Hayden Pakkala potted power-play goals for the Raiders. Demek’s goal into an empty net completed the scoring.
