Two men from the Muskoday First Nation face a number of charges including attempted murder, robbery and forcible confinement following an incident on the reserve on Saturday.
A 24-year-old man and a 44-year-old man appeared Tuesday at Prince Albert Provincial Court. Both were ultimately remanded.
The RCMP said a third man who was arrested was released without charges.
According to court records obtained by paNOW, the victim was shot in the head and the abdomen during a robbery and kidnapping. The suspects made off with the man’s truck, as well as cash and a cellphone.
The Prince Albert RCMP was called to the First Nation after receiving reports of an assault. Police believe the man had been shot multiple times at different locations on the First Nation over the course of several hours.
The victim was eventually able to leave the place where he was being held and seek assistance from a member of the public, who drove him to a safe location. Emergency services were called at that point.
The man received medical attention for what were described as serious injuries. He remains in hospital.
The RCMP continues to investigate and is asking for help to find two stolen vehicles related to the incident.
One is a grey Dodge Ram 3500 with Saskatchewan licence plate 835 HVC. The other is a black Dodge Ram 1500 Hemi with Saskatchewan licence plate 848 KXE.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the vehicles is asked to call the Prince Albert RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
