There’s a growing list of things to do to really soak in the Christmas atmosphere across Saskatchewan.
Whether it’s going to find your own Christmas tree or taking in a day on the slopes, there’s something for everyone.
Robin Campese of Saskatchewan Parks shared some key information about all of the different things to do around the province.
“There’s nothing more magical than Sask. Parks in the winter,” Campese said on Monday’s Greg Morgan Morning Show.
“We have a number of things going on. Up until Dec. 24, you can head out to Cypress Hills and chop down your own Christmas tree. (It’s a) super fun activity; the whole family will love it.”
Several parks across the province have different light shows to see.
The Festival of Lights is going on at both Candle Lake and Pike Lake over the next few weeks.
Campese says there are neat options if people want to just make a day trip with friends or family.
“(In) Echo Valley or Buffalo Pound, we have tobogganing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice fishing (and) winter hiking,” Campese said.
The majority of events will carry on into the new year, and Sask. Parks still has some new winter features it will be introducing.
“We’ll have our maze at Duck Mountain, we’ll have Skate The Park back at Echo Valley for the third or fourth year, and then we’ll have the luge track at Cypress Hills,” Campese said.
There has been a large demand for winter camping with full power across the province, which is something Sask. Parks has really tried to make available as much as possible.
Campese said reservations have been very popular as many families continue to plan winter getaways.
