The Regina Pats still have a home game Friday, but they won’t face their scheduled opponent.
The WHL announced in a media release the Prince Albert Raiders — who were supposed to visit the Brandt Centre — are “unable to field a complete team due to injuries and an additional six players being added to the WHL COVID-19 Protocol List.”
As a result, that game was postponed.
However, the WHL has decided to pit the Pats against the Brandon Wheat Kings on Friday. Those teams were to play Jan. 21, but that game was postponed because the Wheat Kings were having COVID issues.
The rescheduled Wheat Kings-Pats contest will start at the Brandt Centre at 7 p.m., and will be carried live on TSN 4 and 5. The Raiders-Pats game was slated to be the national telecast.
Information on the rescheduling of Friday’s game between the Raiders and Pats will be provided at a later date.
