The City of Regina is looking for input from the public in preparation for the 2023-24 budget.
In a media release Thursday, the city said it was launching a pre-budget survey to determine where tax dollars should be spent. More than half of the city’s budget comes from property taxes.
“As we move to a multi-year budget, starting with 2023-24, we invite residents to help build a budget that strengthens our city now and into the future,” the release said.
In the survey, people can tell the city the areas in which they would like to see spending, what their spending priorities are and what they see as their “top considerations” in the budget process.
Regina’s ’23-24 budget will be the first to set spending for multiple years.
“The city is committed to continuous improvement and providing more efficient services,” the release said. “As most programs, services and capital investments need funding over more than a single year, multi-year budgeting will support longer-term planning to advance our strategic goals, including operational excellence.”
The survey is available until May 11.
