A 23-year-old Regina woman has been sentenced to 18 months in jail after pleading guilty to one count of sexual assault involving a 15-year-old boy.
According to court documents, another charge — sexual interference — against Tori Lynn Peterson was stayed during her appearance Tuesday in Regina Provincial Court.
Regina police said they first received a report about the alleged relationship between the woman and the boy on Jan. 28 and handed the file over to the Regina Children’s Justice Centre and the RCMP.
The investigation led to Peterson’s arrest on Feb. 8.
Peterson had worked as a teacher in Grenfell, but police never said if the victim was one of her students.
In addition to her jail sentence, Peterson was ordered to provide a DNA sample and was handed a 10-year firearms prohibition.
