A blast of summer heat is about to blanket the province, according to Environment Canada.
Meteorologist James Colangelo says we can expect some scorching heat.
“A ridge of high pressure is moving into the region from the west and that’s going to bring a lot of warm air,” he said Monday. “It looks like starting Tuesday, we’re going to see temperatures in the low to mid-30s.”
Colangelo described it as a “mini heat-wave,” with temperatures flirting around 30 C and higher for at least a week.
“It will be pretty hot, but it’s not super-unusual for this time of year for Saskatchewan,” Colangelo said.
The hot air will mean a chance of thunderstorms in the near future as well.
As of Monday morning, there were no weather warnings in place by Environment Canada.
