A 28-year-old woman is facing charges after allegedly trying to rob a cab driver in Regina in mid-June.
According to Regina police, officers responded June 17 at about 6:15 a.m., to the area of McIntyre Street and Eighth Avenue for a report of a robbery.
A taxi driver said he got a call for a cab in the area of Seventh Avenue and Albert Street from two women. He told police that, minutes into the trip, one of the women held a knife to his neck and demanded cash.
Police said the man “was able to get himself out of danger, without injury,” and the women got out of his van.
Investigation led to the identification of the woman alleged to have used the knife, and also determined the other passenger wasn’t involved in the attempted robbery.
The 28-year-old woman was charged with robbery and breach of probation. She made her first court appearance on Thursday.
