An Amber Alert issued by the Regina Police Service on Sunday afternoon has been cancelled.
In a media release sent out just before 7 p.m., police said the subjects of the alert — a 36-year-old woman and a two-year-old boy — had been located safe in Regina at about 6 p.m.
The woman, 36-year-old Kerry Keewatin, was taken into custody by police. The release didn’t say what charges, if any, Keewatin is facing, but the initial alert said police believed the woman had taken the boy.
In a release early Sunday, police said officers were called to a home in the 1100 block of 13th Avenue at around 4:30 a.m.
Upon arrival, the officers were told a woman had showed up at the home and removed the boy.
