The Saskatchewan Roughriders are allowing their fans to beat the PST.
The CFL team announced Wednesday it was launching its season-ticket campaign two months earlier than usual so that buyers can avoid the six per cent increase in the provincial sales tax that’s set to happen Oct. 1.
Season ticket sales are to begin next Wednesday.
“Get Early Bird pricing and BEAT THE PST by purchasing in full by 5 p.m. September 30th, 2022,” the team said on its website.
The Roughriders invited fans to join their MVP ticketing plan to “get a price freeze and save the PST for three (seasons).”
The team also revealed it’s reducing ticket prices on roughly 2,700 seats for 2023, making more sections eligible for family ticket packages, and freezing the 2022 prices on the balance of seats.
“Our family ticket packages have been incredibly successful this season and we have received a lot of positive feedback from Rider Nation about how we’ve made games more affordable and fun for families,” chief brand officer Anthony Partipilo said in a media release.
“We know with inflation and the price of gas, the financial demands on Rider Nation are greater than ever, and we hope these changes will continue to make Mosaic Stadium accessible for more people to take in our Green and White.”
Season-ticket holders and MVP Plan members are to start getting renewal emails this week.
