The Moose Jaw Police Service is on the hunt for two suspects who are believed to be using counterfeit American currency.
On Tuesday, the MJPS responded to a business in the 1200 block of Main Street North that reported counterfeit currency was used in a purchase.
A media release from police said two suspects entered the business and paid using a counterfeit $50 U.S. bill. Following the transaction, the business contacted the MJPS.
Police want to make the public aware of the incident as the suspects are believed to be in possession of numerous counterfeit bills, and the MJPS believe they may use the bills again in the community.
It’s unknown what denominations and quantity the suspects may have.
Police are asking members of the public to call if they believe someone is trying to pay with counterfeit currency.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Moose Jaw Police Service at 306-694-7600 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
