The emergency alert issued Friday night after a man shot at Moose Jaw police was cancelled just after 11 p.m.
Police said in their update that the suspect was in custody, but didn’t release any more details.
Just before 10:30 p.m., the Moose Jaw Police Service issued a dangerous persons emergency broadcast, saying the man had fired a handgun at police in the area of Caribou Street and Fourth Avenue Northwest.
The alert didn’t say if anyone was hurt in the incident.
Police provided a description of the suspect and the direction he ran after the shooting. They urged people not to approach the suspect, but instead told them to call 911.
The update issued just after 11 o’clock said the Moose Jaw police would update the situation in a media release “when able.” It didn’t say how the suspect was found or how he was taken into custody.
