The Saskatchewan Roughriders have taken a step to shore up their offensive line.
The CFL team announced Thursday it had signed American offensive lineman Jeremiah Poutasi, a third-round pick of the Tennessee Titans in the 2015 NFL draft.
The 6-foot-6, 330-pounder — the 66th overall pick in that draft — dressed for 11 games and started seven for the Titans in 2015. He spent the 2016 season with the Jacksonville Jaguars, then had stints with the Los Angeles Rams (2017), Denver Broncos (2017-18), Arizona Cardinals (2019) and Las Vegas Raiders (2021).
Now 28, Poutasi played three seasons (2012-14) at the University of Utah, starting in 35 of the 36 games in which he dressed.
Saskatchewan surrendered a league-high 77 sacks during the 2022 CFL regular season.
