"All I've wanted since we won in 2020 was to be back here hoisting that cup again," said Justin Ball.
Emergency crews were called to the Saskatoon Airport on Thursday after a large cargo plane made an emergency landing.
A spokesperson for the airport said a Boeing 747 carrying cargo rather than passengers made an emergency landing in Saskatoon while en route from Cincinnati to Anchorage. The plane’s crew, which consisted of seven people, reported an emergency over the radio and the plane was diverted to Saskatoon.
In a statement shared to social media, the airport said the situation has been concluded with no injuries reported, and all normal operations have resumed.
A witness told 650 CKOM he saw the aircraft landing at the airport at about 2 p.m., where it was met by a number of emergency vehicles on the ground.
More to come.
