A ninth person has been arrested in connection with the investigation into the death of Megan Gallagher, and police said they believe they’ve identified and arrested everyone involved.
Gallagher was last seen at a corner store in Saskatoon in September of 2020, and in January of 2021, police announced they were treating her disappearance as a murder.
Last fall, after making several arrests in connection with the case, police began a methodical four-day search of an area of the South Saskatchewan River which led to Gallagher’s remains being located near the village of St. Louis.
A total of nine people have been charged in the case. Four were charged with first-degree murder, three are accused of committing an indignity to human remains, and two were charged with aggravated assault and unlawful confinement.
On Thursday, police announced that the last of the individuals charged was in custody.
Summer-Sky Henry, 24, is facing a first-degree murder charge in connection with Gallagher’s death, police said. Henry is also facing charges unrelated to the homicide, police added, including robbery, aggravated assault, unlawful confinement, possession of a firearm without a licence, and possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking. She was also wanted by Saskatoon police and the RCMP for failing to comply with a release order, police said.
“Summer-Sky Henry is the last person wanted in connection to the investigation and investigators believe that they have identified everyone involved,” Saskatoon police said in a statement.
Police said officers will still accept information from the public that may be related to the investigation.
