It’s no secret that health care in Saskatchewan has some problems it’s trying to deal with, and now the Opposition Saskatchewan NDP is heading out to see what the situation really is.
Health Critic Vicki Mowat and Remote Health Critic Matt Love are going on a tour of the province for a Health Care Solutions Tour over the next few months.
“Saskatchewan’s health system is in a short-staffing crisis and Moe’s Health Minister (Paul Merriman) is missing in action,” Mowat said in a news release. “That’s why we’re speaking to the people on the front line who know firsthand what’s wrong in our health system and how best to fix it.”
Mowat and Love will be talking with municipal leaders, first responders, doctors, nurses, lab technicians and other health-care professionals.
“It was the Saskatchewan NDP that pioneered Canadian health care, and after 15 years of Sask. Party incompetence, we’re ready to work with Saskatchewan people to reinvent it again,” Love said in the release.
