Shivers was with the Rider franchise for seven years. Durant played with the team for a decade.
The Regina Pats got back into the win column on Wednesday night.
Regina, which is currently sitting in sixth place with 68 points in the WHL’s Eastern Conference, needed to get the win to inch closer to clinching a playoff spot.
A 6-3 win over the Brandon Wheat Kings put an end to a four-game Regina losing streak.
Regina got two goals and two assists from Connor Bedard and two goals from Tanner Howe. Stanislav Svozil and Brayden Barnett also found the back of the net for the Pats.
Brandon, currently sitting in 10th place with 60 points, received scoring from Joby Baumuller, Zakhar Polshakov and Nolan Ritchie.
Regina (32-27-3-1) will take on the visiting Moose Jaw Warriors on Friday.
