A man who allegedly robbed a Regina taxi driver was chased down by the cabbie and another man Sunday afternoon.
According to police, officers on their way to another call were flagged down by a person at the intersection of Dewdney Avenue and Princess Street. The person said someone was being robbed.
The officers then found a man being held by two other men nearby. They told police the man had tried to rob a taxi driver at knifepoint.
“Investigation determined that two male suspects entered a taxicab and demanded money and property from the driver,” the police release said. “One of the suspects took belongings, then both fled. The victim and a bystander chased the suspects. The suspect with the belongings was apprehended, and the belongings were recovered.”
The 22-year-old suspect was charged with robbery. The other suspect was not identified and remains at large.
