A man wanted in connection with a murder in Regina in October is in police custody.
In a media release Tuesday, the Regina Police Service said Forrestre Jade Windigo had been arrested and charged with second-degree murder. The police had issued a release May 8 saying they were looking for Windigo.
The 33-year-old was charged in connection with the death of 34-year-old Bryant Thayne Starr last fall.
On Oct. 12, police responded to the General Hospital for a call about a man who was being treated for what police called “wounds consistent with an assault.” The victim, subsequently identified as Starr, died in hospital two weeks later.
The police investigation identified Windigo as the suspect and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
He was to make his first court appearance on Tuesday.
