Wednesday night will mark the start of the Saskatchewan Rattlers’ fifth season.
The Rattlers’ 2022 season ended after they were eliminated in the quarterfinals by the Scarborough Shooting Stars.
Head coach Dean Demopoulos is in his second year with the team. Demopoulos’ first season with the Rattlers was a successful one, as Saskatchewan went 11-9 and returned to the playoffs for the first time since 2019.
The Rattlers signed Justin Wright-Foreman on Monday just before the team’s new season gets underway in the Canadian Elite Basketball League.
Wright-Foreman has NBA experience, having played with the Utah Jazz from 2019 to 2020, and the move means he’ll also reunite with former teammate Malik Benlevi.
Demopoulos said he’s excited to add a talent like Wright-Foreman, who brings with him a level of experience that not everyone in the league has.
The first game of the Rattlers’ regular season is set for Wednesday at SaskTel Centre. Tipoff is at 7 p.m.
