More details have been released about a shooting in La Ronge — including that the victims now are facing charges.
According to the RCMP, two men and a woman approached a house in La Ronge on Sunday at about 7:30 p.m. Police allege that after a gun was fired at the house, the trio forced their way inside and a gun was fired again.
Police said the two men inside the house were hurt and were taken to hospital in a private vehicle.
“Officers attended the hospital and located the males, who were receiving medical treatment, and the vehicle,” the RCMP said in a release. “Officers located and seized approximately 103 grams of cocaine, a sum of cash and trafficking paraphernalia in the vehicle.”
Police said the officers then executed a search warrant at the house where the shots had been fired. There, police found a semi-automatic firearm, an illegally modified firearm, hard body armour, a small amount of cocaine and drug trafficking paraphernalia.
As a result, police charged a 23-year-old woman from Prince Albert, a 35-year-old man from the La Ronge district and a 22-year-old man from Saskatoon with drug and weapons offences.
The RCMP also have charged three people from La Ronge — a 21-year-old man, a 22-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman — with a variety of charges in connection with the shooting. The charges include attempted murder, break and enter, using a firearm in the commission of an offence, and pointing a firearm.
Police are searching for those suspects.
