A 21-year-old Regina man has been charged after an investigation by the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit.
In a media release Friday, the ICE Unit said its investigation began Tuesday using social media platforms. The suspect was arrested the next day and charged with one count of agreement to commit sexual assault on a person under the age of 18.
He was remanded in custody until his next court appearance next Wednesday in Regina.
The ICE Unit comprises investigators from the Saskatchewan RCMP and the Regina, Saskatoon and Prince Albert police services. It investigates crimes involving the abuse and/or exploitation of children on the Internet.
