According to the RCMP, the report of the shooting came in at about 5:40 a.m., and when police officers and paramedics arrived, they found the man suffering from a life-threatening injury. He was taken to hospital, where he was later declared dead, the RCMP said.
The case is being treated as a homicide, police said, and the man’s family has been notified.
The Saskatchewan Coroners Service has ordered an autopsy, the RCMP added.
“Investigators continue to conduct witness interviews and gather information to develop a clear timeline of events and determine the circumstances surrounding the victim’s death,” the Mounties said in a statement.
