Moose Jaw Wakamow MLA Greg Lawrence is recovering in hospital after a motorcycle crash Thursday in Moose Jaw.
A statement Friday from the government caucus office said no one else was involved in the crash. The statement said Lawrence is expected to be in hospital for a few weeks as he recovers.
In the statement, he thanked health-care workers and first responders for their work after the crash.
According to Discover Moose Jaw, the crash happened Thursday at around 4 p.m. on the Manitoba Expressway near the Trans-Canada Highway.
The Moose Jaw Police Service said it appeared the motorcyclist collided with a tree.
Lawrence was first elected to the Saskatchewan Legislature in 2011 as a member of the Saskatchewan Party, and was re-elected in 2016 and 2020.
According to his biography on the Saskatchewan Legislative Assembly website, Lawrence has worked as the legislative secretary to the minister of Social Services and as chair of the Standing Committee on Intergovernmental Affairs and Justice.
