The Regina Thunder started its junior football season with a victory on Sunday. The defending Prairie Football Conference champions defeated the Calgary Colts 36-20 to extend their regular-season win streak. The Thunder, which is coming off a PFC title in 2022, has not lost a regular-season game since 2019. The Thunder heads back to Alberta in Week 2 to play the 0-1 Edmonton Wildcats. The first home game for the Thunder at Leibel Field will be against the Winnipeg Rifles on Aug. 27.
