Police are investigating after two people were found dead inside a home in the Saskatchewan community of Broadview.
According to the RCMP, a 52-year-old man and a 54-year-old woman were found inside the home on Front Street on Wednesday. Their next of kin have been notified of the deaths, police added.
The Saskatchewan Coroners Service is also involved in the investigation, the RCMP added, and autopsies have been ordered.
Police did not say how the people died or if the deaths were considered criminal in nature, but noted they aren’t looking for a suspect. Police noted the people were known to each other, and added there wasn’t any threat to the public.
“Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes in conjunction with Broadview RCMP and the Yorkton RCMP Forensic Identification Services will remain in the community for an undetermined amount of time and are asking residents to stay clear of the area,” the RCMP said.
“Investigators are conducting interviews and gathering information to develop a clear timeline of events and determine the circumstances surrounding the deaths.”
The RCMP said an update will be provided when more information becomes available.
Broadview is located about 150 kilometres east of Regina on Highway 1.
