Regina police have revealed more information about an operation on Cameron Street last Thursday that included a “shelter in place” order for people in the area.
In a media release Thursday, police said their Street Gangs Unit, Property Crimes Unit and SWAT team executed a search warrant on a house in the 800 block of Cameron.
“There was reason to believe the occupants of the residence were involved in drug trafficking and were in possession of firearms and stolen property,” the release said.
A man and a woman were arrested and charged. Police say the raid turned up a loaded .22-calibre sawed-off rifle, nunchuks, 43.18 grams of fentanyl, 39.25 grams of cocaine, 152.25 grams of methamphetamine, cash and evidence of drug trafficking.
A 40-year-old woman and a 39-year-old man are facing numerous drug- and weapons-related charges. They made their first court appearances Friday.
