A two-month-long investigation by the Regina Police Service’s Street Gang Unit has resulted in a number of charges against three men and a woman.
After the suspects were identified during the investigation, police officers arrested one of the men as he was driving in the city on Aug. 25.
“In a search of the vehicle incident to arrest, officers recovered a loaded firearm, a quantity of illicit drugs and more than $16,000 in Canadian currency,” police said in a media release.
Later that day, police arrested a woman at a house in the 2600 block of Fifth Avenue. When she was searched, officers located drugs and Canadian money.
Then, that evening, officers executed a search warrant on a house in the 2000 block of McDonald Street and two men were arrested.
The search turned up two guns and ammunition, more than 850 grams of a substance believed to be methamphetamine, 47 grams of a substance believed to be MDMA, 48 grams of a substance believed to be cocaine, and more Canadian cash.
Drug- and weapons-related charges were laid against a 41-year-old man, a 35-year-old woman, a 32-year-old man and a 38-year-old man. All are from Regina.
