The Saskatoon Hilltops continued their winning ways Sunday.
The Hilltops improved to 5-0-0 in the 2023 PFC regular season with a 52-7 victory over the host Edmonton Wildcats (0-5-0). Saskatoon has outscored its opponents 237-33 so far this season.
On Sunday, Saskatoon registered 28 first downs to the Wildcats’ six and 465 yards of net offence to Edmonton’s 148.
Boston Davidsen rushed 20 times for 131 yards with two touchdowns for the Hilltops, who also got a rushing touchdown from Charles Sawi and TD catches from Evan Ward and Trystan Ginther.
Teijon Able-Douglas added four field goals, five converts and one single for Saskatoon, while Matt Wist added two singles. The Wildcats also conceded a safety.
The Regina Thunder kept pace with the Hilltops with a 23-11 win over the hometown Winnipeg Rifles. Regina improved its second-place record to 4-1-0, while the Rifles fell to 1-4-0.
The Thunder held the Rifles to eight first downs and 154 yards of net offence.
Ryland Leichert rushed 19 times for 110 yards with one major and caught four passes for 76 yards and one TD for Regina. Shawn Green kicked three field goals and two converts for the winners.
Saskatoon is to visit the Edmonton Huskies (3-2-0) on Sunday, while the Thunder is to play host to the Calgary Colts (2-3-0).
