A Regina woman was robbed of her vehicle and some belongings by a bat-wielding man Saturday night.
Police say the incident happened just after 10:30 p.m., on the North Service Road next to Victoria Avenue.
The woman told police she and a passenger were driving westbound under the Ring Road overpass when they saw a man walking in the middle of the road.
“When they slowed down, the male approached the vehicle, ordered the two occupants to exit the vehicle and threatened them with a bat,” police said in a release. “The male suspect then left in the stolen vehicle, a 2020 grey Chevrolet Suburban.”
The woman tracked the Suburban on her cellphone and police officers found it in the 1600 block of Montreal Street. The man was gone and several items — including luggage, clothing, prescription medication, fishing gear, a wallet/purse and personal identification — were missing as well.
The man was described as a man in his 30s, wearing a dark winter coat with a hood or a toque covering his head.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call police at 306-777-6500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
