Regina Fire and Protective Services says two people died in a house fire on Rae Street on Saturday.
In a social media post, the fire department said the blaze occurred at a house in the 800 block of Rae Street.
Police said in a media release that the call came in just after 8:30 a.m., and the house was engulfed in flames when officers arrived.
“Two of the residents of the home were outside and appeared to have minor injuries,” the police release said. “They informed officers that two adults were still inside the home.”
Firefighters located those two people on the second floor of the house and removed them, but they were pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
The fire department said four people in the house next door had to be moved to another location because their house was damaged in the blaze.
In their release, police said they had joined the fire department and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service in the investigation.
